Description

RepairPro Inject UR is a two-component, solvent-free, low viscosity polyurethane, injection system for elastic sealing of cracks in concrete structures as well as areas suffering from water leakage problems. RepairPro Inject UR is a two-component polyurethane system consisting of a resin component and a special type of isocyanate. (MDI based), can be injected with a one component pump, being a long pot life system.

The use of RepairPro Inject UR is depending on the amount of water leakage. In case the crack is dry or moist RepairPro Inject UR can be injected directly into the crack. If a significant leakage of water has to be stopped it should be used in combination with the RepairPro Inject WS, a foaming two-part polyurethane injection resin, which will first stop the water and or react the water away in cracked concrete, after which the injection of RepairPro Inject UR can be carried out

Additional Information

Typical Applications

  • For injecting cracks in concrete, stone and masonry, either wet or dry, interior and exterior areas, to form an elastic seal.
  • For both for new structures and repair purposes.
  • Permanent crack sealing and stopping of minor water seepage of below ground structures such as tunnels, shafts, basements, underpasses, columns, beams, bridge decks, floors, piers, tunnels, etc.
  • Ideal for sealing live, dynamic cracks in concrete and masonry from widths between 0.2 mm and 10 mm, depending on requirements

Benefits

  • Low viscosity guarantees excellent penetration into fine fissures
  • Good adhesion to dry or moist substrate
  • Flexible to withstand differential movement
  • Tough to stand up to high hydrostatic pressures
  • Cures to an impermeable mass
  • Good adhesion guarantees durable bond to substrates and when injected into
cracks it allows some movement without loss of bond
  • Solvent free - Can generally be used in confined spaces without ventilation

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be clean, solid, dry and free from oils, grease, residual paint, plaster, corrosion deposits and other surface treatments. The surface should preferably be prepared using high pressure water jetting or light abrasive blasting, followed by thorough washing to remove dust and remaining particles. Dirt alone may be removed with wire brushes or similar mechanical means.

Oil and grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning, detergent scrubbing or the use of a proprietary degreaser. The effectiveness of decontamination should be assessed by a pull-off test. Blow the cracks and treated surface with oil free air to ensure complete removal of all dust and loose particles. Ensure that the surfaces are blown dry.

In the presence of running water the flow must be stopped using RepairPro Inject WS which produces a rapid setting water-stopping foam. When the water is stopped the cracks are re-injected with RepairPro Inject UR.

All cracks must be sealed and injection packers or nipples located in place before RepairPro Inject UR is injected

Product Preparation

The two components of RepairPro Inject UR must be mixed together. Pour component B into component A with a low-speed heavy duty drill (for large quantities), avoiding the formation of air bubbles, until the mix is completely homogeneous. Do not use partial quantities of the parts as this may produce an imbalance in the proportions which could lead to incomplete hardening of RepairPro Inject UR

RepairPro Inject UR is designed for the application with 2 component injection machines, where the mixing happens within the nozzle. The cracks must be free of dirt and dust. The sides of the cracks may be damp (except for gravity feed application) but must be clean. Before the injection application, plan the position of the entry ports/nipples.

Product Application

Inject RepairPro Inject UR, immediately after its preparation with a suitable automated or manual injection equipment. After the epoxy adhesive has cured, inject RepairPro Inject UR with steady pressure, starting from the lowest tube on vertical cracks or to either end of the horizontal cracks. Inject until the resin overflows out of the next tube. Close the lower tube and continue injecting until the entire crack is completely sealed. Sufficient material shall, therefore, be made ready prior to the commencement of the work. The injection pressure should be at least 0.4N/mm2 (4 bar).

At +25°C RepairPro Inject UR, must be used within 70 minutes of its preparation. After 24 hours, visually check the cracks for any possible deficiencies on the crack surface. Remove the packers and make good any holes or voids with RepairPro EP FC and allow to cure. The RepairPro EP FC can be ground off or softened with a blow lamp and peeled off. Do not allow to burn

Others

Clean tools, equipment and mixers with solvent immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically
