Description

PlasterPro Spray Plaster is a pre-mixed cement-based plaster, to carry out traditional plastering works in a clean and speedy manner, while keeping a homogeneous mix. Due to its high content in additives, it has a better shrinkage control as well as workability and curing. PlasterPro Spray Plaster can be conveniently applied by hand but is particularly recommended for application by spraying machine.

PlasterPro Spray Plaster is an ideal replacement for conventional, sand / cement plaster specially in coastal areas as it is sulphide and chloride resistant

Benefits

  • Pre-mixed ready to use to avoid site mixing errors.
  • Ideal for internal and external application.
  • Suitable for a wide range of concrete and masonry substrates.
  • Accurate aggregate grading and fiber reinforcement.
  • Aggregate grading increases workability and provides for optimum quality finish.
  • Excellent adhesion and good mechanical properties.
  • Excellent workability.
  • Durable
  • Rapid Installation via plaster-spraying machines application
  • Suitable for hot weather.
  • Sulphide and Chloride resistant.

General best practice of rendering applies:

  • On all types of external surfaces, rendering must be started 10 cm above the ground level in order to prevent the upward migration of water/salts due to capillary action of render.
  • On high absorbent, rough surfaces, rush coat (key coat) e.g., PlasterPro Rush Coat, should be applied prior to application of render.
  • For best results, always apply mock-up area first, as per the substrate requirements

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be laitance free, clean, rough and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contaminants and loose or friable particles. Absorbent surfaces should be saturated thoroughly with clean water. As such, spray/ saturate surface with water before applying the PlasterPro Spray plaster coat to minimize absorption. In other words, the substrate must be in Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition prior to application of product.

Fixing of all attachments such as pipe, electrical fittings, corner beads etc. should be carried out before the rendering works. Do not apply PlasterPro Spray Plaster on surfaces subjected to movement, vibration or mechanical impacts.

For rendering of concrete, bonding slurry (rush coat from PlasterPro range) should be applied to achieve mechanical bond, prior to rendering. Proper curing of the key coat should be done by applying potable water 3-4 times a day for at least 3 days. A similar application should be done for smooth surfaces.

The right type of Rushbond coat applied depends on the substrate.

  • PlasterPro Rushbond (For normal fair face concrete use)
  • PlasterPro Rushbond BL (For AAC lightweight block surface use)

Let it dry for 3 days before plastering application. For other substrates Contact NORTH Technical Department for assistance

Product Preparation

Plasterpro Spray Plaster is mixed and applied on the surface by using special spraying machine. The dosage of clean water may be 7.5 to 8 litres per 50 kg bag. The mixture remains workable for one hour after mixing at 25°C.

When applied with plastering machine, the water is manually adjusted by the flow meter. Adjust the water level to get suitable mix viscosity with uniform consistency. Before application, apply test area first, to set up the spray equipment. Do not add excess water during application. Always follow recommended mixing ratio. Do not re-use hardened material. Do not mix more material than can be placed within the pot life. Do not add extra water or other ingredients. Mix only full bags for the best result

Product Application

PlasterPro Rushbond BL Coat is best applied on to the prepared substrate using a tyrolean box or suitable spraying equipment. Apply on entire prepared area and allow time for the material to stiffen. Ensure that the applied material covers the entire surface area by doing uniform application. A rough texture is to be obtained to provide a mechanical key for the subsequent coat of plaster.

PlasterPro Rushbond BL should be applied in a total thickness of 2-3mm, ensure that wet mix covers the entire surface area. Cure the applied coat with water for minimum 3 days.

Others

Curing:

Good curing practice must always be followed. As a general guidance, the rush coat must be cured with water for at least three days by misting the substrate twice a day.

Cleaning:

Clean Tools, equipments and mixers with clean water immediatelyafter use (before hardening). Cured material can only be removed by mechanical means.

Storage & Shelf Life:

12 months from manufacturing date in original and unopen packaging, under cover, in dry condition, away from humidity, protected from extreme temperatures, rainfall and direct sunlight. Avoid excess compaction. Failure to comply with the recommended storage conditions may result in premature deterioration of the product or packaging
