The substrate must be laitance free, clean, rough and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contaminants and loose or friable particles. Absorbent surfaces should be saturated thoroughly with clean water. As such, spray/ saturate surface with water before applying the PlasterPro Spray plaster coat to minimize absorption. In other words, the substrate must be in Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition prior to application of product.
Fixing of all attachments such as pipe, electrical fittings, corner beads etc. should be carried out before the rendering works. Do not apply PlasterPro Spray Plaster on surfaces subjected to movement, vibration or mechanical impacts.
For rendering of concrete, bonding slurry (rush coat from PlasterPro range) should be applied to achieve mechanical bond, prior to rendering. Proper curing of the key coat should be done by applying potable water 3-4 times a day for at least 3 days. A similar application should be done for smooth surfaces.
The right type of Rushbond coat applied depends on the substrate.
- PlasterPro Rushbond (For normal fair face concrete use)
- PlasterPro Rushbond BL (For AAC lightweight block surface use)
Let it dry for 3 days before plastering application. For other substrates Contact NORTH Technical Department for assistance
