FloorPro Rapid is a pre-blended ready-to-use mortar with rapid setting and controlled shrinkage based on a special hydraulic binder and graded aggregates and is suitable for forming unbonded and bonded screeds on new and existing slabs in interiors and exteriors prior to installing wood, PVC, linoleum, ceramic tile, natural stone, carpet or other floor coverings in areas where fast-drying screeds are required in order to lay floorings in a short time

Water to Powder Ratio: 8 to 9% (4 to 4.5 liters) Layer Thickness:
Minimum:
approx. 10 mm for bonded screeds.approx. 40 mm for screeds on isolating or insulating layerapprox. 30 mm for pipes & conduits.
Maximum: approx 100mm in one single layer
Typical Applications
For Indoor and Outdoor use
For Dry and Wet areas (for example bathrooms, kitchen, toilets, balconies)
Fasttrack industrial refurbishment
Suitable for areas subject to wheeled service loads such as chairs and trolleys, typically in hospitals, hotels, theatres, schools, and shopping centers.
Ideal for leveling differences in thicknesses from 15mm to 100 mm in one layer, depending on the difference in the level and on the type of application: bonded, unbonded, or floating screed.
For forming screeds that are set for foot traffic in 12 hours and completely dry in 4 days, and for installing wood parquet and resilient flooring such as rubber, PVC, linoleum, etc.
For Forming Screeds that are ready to receive ceramic tiles after 24 hours and natural stone flooring after 2 days.
For areas that are exposed to permanent wetness.
For Repairing screeds in areas where it is required to lay floorings in a short time (e.g., supermarkets, shops, residences, offices, etc.)
For fast-track bonded screeds and screeds installed on an isolating or insulating layer.
Suitable for forming heated screeds without the need for plasticizers.
Repair mortar for concrete floors and cementitious screeds.
Floor coverings such as Rubber, PVC, linoleum, textile, ceramic tile, natural stone, wood or other floor coverings, can generally be installed after 4 days only depending on the screed thickness, the moisture content and the site conditions.
FloorPro Rapid is suitable for various acoustic insulation systems applications.
Benefits
Extremely easy to use, only water addition on-site is required.
Long working time can be worked with and smoothed for almost 1 hour despite of short curing time.
Suitable for application by pump, even at higher temperatures.
Temperature resistant from -30°C to +90°C, therefore suitable for balconies, terraces, garages, and industrial floor coverings cleaned with superheated steam.
Insensitive to moisture, therefore suitable for areas exposed to permanent wetness.
An ideal solution where good quality graded aggregate is hard to find for job sites where logistics are involved in mixing conventional binders that can be difficult
The substrate should be at least 3 months old, clean and free from all dust and contamination, structurally stable, and have a moisture content of < 4% and also must be clean sound, and free from grease, old paint, and other residues. The substrate must be mechanically prepared, using a diamond grinding, shot blasting, or even scarifying machine. Remove heavy contamination mechanically, residues of oil and wax. Smoothed surfaces with a cement slurry on top should be removed by shot blasting.
Preparing the Mix
FloorPro Rapid can be mixed in:
rotating mixers;
normal job site mixers;
centrifugal mixers;
automatic pressure pumps
Product Preparation
Add FloorPro Rapid to a forced-action concrete mixer and mix with water while the mixer is running for at least five minutes until a stiff plastic consistency is achieved. The amount of water required per 25kg bag of FloorPro Rapid is about 2 L. Never vary the amount of water on-site because this will weaken the mortar’s final performance.
Single bags of FloorPro Rapid can also be mixed in a suitable vessel (e.g. hob bock) with a basket stirrer attached to an electric drill. Put an adequate amount of gauging water in the vessel, add FloorPro Rapid and mix until a stiff plastic/semi-dry consistency is achieved. Tamp and float the mix until a dense, smooth surface is obtained without bleeding.
Product Application
Spread the mortar with a shovel, trowel or screeding bar, compact, scrape off with a levelling board, rub down with a wooden board and smooth if necessary. Protect newly applied screed from too rapid dehydration (like wind, direct sunlight). The applied screed should be covered with polythene sheet immediately following finishing (with all leading edges lapped and secured) and left covered for a minimum 24 hours or more depending upon the further site work (if any) to be implemented in successions.
Others
The general guidelines for cement screeds must be observed.
Pipes & conduits must be covered by a layer thickness of 30 mm.
The rapid curing properties of FloorPro Rapid must be taken into consideration.
Always measure the substrate moisture content before applying FloorPro Rapid. Although the drying time of FloorPro Rapid is fast, it is recommended to always re-measure the moisture content before installing moisture sensitive floor finishes such as Rubber, PVC, linoleum, textile, wooden floor, etc. using a Carbide Hygrometer (Electrical hygrometers values are not reliable).
For thicknesses higher than 100 mm, please consult North Group technical department.
Use only whole bags of FloorPro Rapid.
Apply FloorPro Rapid within approx. 60 minutes (at approx. +23°C) after mixing
Higher temperatures reduce, lower temperatures increase the time given.
Never add water or fresh FloorPro Rapid to reconstitute a mortar mix which has already begun to set.
In outdoor areas where early exposure to rain is expected or under extremely windy conditions it is recommended to cover the installation with construction foil until walkable. (Polyethylene material)
Clean tools and mixing vessels with water immediately after use, once the product has cured cleaning with water is not possible anymore.
Do not use FloorPro Rapid on substrates subject to rising damp (place a vapour barrier in between).
Do not mix FloorPro Rapid with other binders (e.g., cement, lime, gypsum, etc.) or aggregates.
Do not wet the surface of FloorPro Rapid screed.
Always measure the substrate moisture content before applying FloorPro Rapid. Although the drying time of FloorPro Rapid is fast, North recommends to always re-measure the moisture content before installing moisture sensitive floor finishes such as Rubber, PVC, linoleum, textile, wooden floor, etc. using a Carbide Hygrometer (Electrical hygrometers values are not reliable).
