High performance, moisture and oil tolerant, two-component solvent free epoxy moisture barrier primer for cementitious substrates, coating and floor systems
* Properties listed above are only based on controlled laboratory samples and tests: Results may differ based upon statistical variations depending upon mixing methods and equipment, temperature, application methods, test methods, actual site conditions and curing conditions.
FloorPro Primer MT is a two-component product, solvent free, 100% solid epoxy resin, with low viscosity and high penetration capability in the pores of the substrates. After the application and the polymerisation of the resins, the permeability of the substrate is strongly reduced and, in the meantime, it becomes sound, stronger and more resistant to abrasion. Because of the total absence of solvents, FloorPro Primer MT has low odour and is non-flammable

FloorPro Primer MT: approx 4 to 6m²/litre FloorPro Anti-slip Aggregates: 0.6-1.0 kg/m²Note: Coverage figures given are theoretical. Due to wastage factors, porosity and profile of the concrete substrate, practical coverage figures may be reduced, this will vary with site and application conditions.
Typical Applications
Application, prior the laying of flooring sensitive to moisture, as a moisture barrier to stop moisture related problems of concrete or cementitious screeds with a moisture content not exceeding 6 % by Tramex Carbide hygrometer Method, residual moisture up to 100 % R.H. (measured with in situ probe test - ASTM F2170 - BS 8203).
Application on concrete slabs and screeds (7 days old) with high moisture and high pH before the installation of floorings sensitive to humidity such as timber, rubber or vinyl.
FloorPro Primer MT moisture barrier forms a sound surface for epoxy or polyurethanes to adhere to and provides excellent adhesion to concrete, metal and wood.
For use under wood flooring products, self-leveling underlayments, floating floors and other flooring systems that require protection from subfloor moisture.
Application to Consolidate inconsistent and/or weak cementitious substrates.
Dustproof treatment over inconsistent cementitious or dried gypsum-based underlayment’s.
Binder for mixing with quartz to realize synthetic mortar for small smoothing and repair operations.
To improve adhesion FloorPro Primer MT is sprinkled with quartz sand FloorPro Anti-Slip Aggregates while still wet to create a mechanical key for subsequent coatings.
For applications in immersed conditions or when the substrate cannot be completely dried the use of FloorPro Primer MT is recommended prior to the application of the sealant.
Fluid adhesive to seal cracks and make structural bonds.
For floors with oil contamination
Benefits
Solvent free - low odour during application.
Easy application by brush, roller or squeegee
Low viscous and good penetration & stabilization of the substrate
Short waiting times
Reduction of adhesive consumption
Can be applied to green concrete
Can be used below floating floors
Water-based - suitable for damp substrates.
Enhances bond with substrate
Moisture barrier – blocks moisture from moving through the substrate allowing the installation of levelling materials where there is a risk of moisture coming through the slab during curing
The long-term durability of any resin floor system is determined by the adhesive bond achieved. These should normally have been placed for at least 28 days and have a moisture content of less than 4 to 5%. The concrete substrate must be clean, free from contamination such as oil and grease, mortar and paint splashes or curing compound residues, sound and of sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm²) with a minimum pull off strength of 1.5 N/mm². Excess laitance deposits are best removed by light mechanical scabbling, grinding or grit/captive blasting followed by vacuum cleaning to remove dust debris.
Weak concrete must be removed and surface defects such as holes and voids must be full exposed. Surface irregularities must be ground down or filled out with RepairPro EP FC/ RepairPro EPFCB or repair materials from RepairPro range.
Product Preparation
The base and hardener components of FloorPro Primer SF should be thoroughly stirred before the two are mixed together. The entire contents of the hardener container should be poured into the base container and the two materials mixed thoroughly, Mix for at least 3 minutes to form a uniform mix colour is obtained, using a slow speed drill (300-400 rpm) fitted with a spiral mixing paddle. Mix these components in the quantities supplied taking care to ensure all containers are scraped clean. Part mixing should be avoided. Over mixing must be avoided to minimize air entrapment. Do not add solvent thinners at any time
Product Application
Apply the material with a suitable squeegee, stiff nylon roller/ brush, stiff trowel or rake working FloorPro Primer SF into the substrate to ensure good penetration into the substrate resulting in good surface texture. If necessary, apply two priming coats.
Depending on the final surface texture requirement (smooth or anti-slip), FloorPro Primer SF can be broadcasted with FloorPro Anti-slip Aggregates (a quartz sand) at first light and then to excess, after about 15 minutes of the product application but before 30 minutes (at +20º C).
Make sure there are no open pores in the surface of the substrate, otherwise air bubbles could escape from the substrate & form pinholes in the coating system to be applied. This is particularly important when applying self-levelling resin or cementitious systems

Cleaning:
Remove uncured product from tools and equipment using a suitable thinner immediately after use. Once hardened, the product may only be removed mechanically
