Description

AnchorPro EP PC is a high-performance, solvent-free, non-shrink, high strength free flowing, impermeable three-component epoxy mortar to fill intricate spaces, free from segregation & bleeding for pile gap surfaces and general void filling. AnchorPro EP PC has good adhesion to steel and concrete and ensures proper transmission of static and dynamic loads to the foundations and other applications, making it ideal to encapsulate pile top waterproofing applications. It is suitable for application thickness range of 15mm

– 120mm in a single pour without any cracking due to exothermic reaction and is resistant to oil, synthetic lubricants, water, and most chemicals. It cures quickly which means the pile cap can be placed and waterproof rapidly

Substrate Preparation

As with all epoxy resin applications, the quality of surface preparation has a direct effect on the performance and durability of the system. The surface onto which the grout is to be applied should be scabbled to remove laitance and expose the aggregate. Do not use bush hammers or similar preparation equipment that can crush the aggregate but leave it in place. The substrates must be sound, dimensionally stable, clean, dust free, and free from all traces of oil, curing compound, gypsum, paint, corrosion deposits or algae, or laitance which would impair adhesion.

All metal components to be in contact with AnchorPro EP PC must be mechanically abraded to a bright white metal finish for maximum adhesion. Remove all corrosion from the exposed steel in accordance with ICRI Technical Guideline No 03730.

Formwork:

Care should be taken to ensure formwork is secure and watertight to prevent movement and leaking during the placing and curing of the grout. This can be achieved by using foam rubber strips or mastic sealant beneath the constructed formwork & between joints.

Underplate grouting:

The unrestrained surface area of the grout must be kept to a minimum. Generally, the gap between the perimeter formwork & the plate edge should not exceed 75mm on the pouring side & 25mm on the opposite side. Use oil-free compressed air to blow out as necessary.

The area should be free of excessive vibration. Where AnchorPro EP PC is to be poured, ensure access is available and a head of pressure can be maintained. Shut down adjacent machinery until the grout has hardened.

Product Preparation
  • The components are supplied in the correct mix proportions designed for whole pack mixing on site and no other materials should be added.
  • Mix with a slow-speed drill and paddle for small batch sizes. For large batch sizes, a forced action mixer should be used.
  • Add the contents of the reactor container to a base component in a suitable clean mixing vessel while stirring slowly, ensuring complete transfer of both resin components
  • Mix for 1-2 minutes before slowly adding the aggregate and continue mixing further for 2- 3 minutes until a flowing, pourable lump-free consistency is achieved. Mixing for too long can entrain air
  • Once mixed, the material must be used within the specified usable life (see under Properties). After this time, unused material will have stiffened and should be discarded.
  • AnchorPro EP PC can be placed in a minimum thickness of 15mm up to a maximum thickness of 120mm in a single pour.
  • Continuous grout flow is essential. Sufficient grout must be prepared before starting. The time taken to pour a batch must be regulated to the time taken to prepare the next one
Product Application
  • The formwork should be rigid and sealed tight to prevent loss of material.
  • Apply BondPro Release WB or BondPro Release SB or other approval release agent to facilitate easy removal of the formwork after casting.
  • Allow standing free 5 min before pouring or pumping into the formwork, in such a manner that it has the shortest distance to flow AnchorPro EP PC should be placed in a single continuous No vibration is required. Place the material within the usable life of the product & Poured material should be introduced slowly to prevent entrapment of air. It is essential to place the mixed material within the pot life (working time).
  • Sufficient grout must be available prior to the start and the time taken to pour a batch must be regulated to the time taken to prepare the next one. Pouring is to be from one side of the void entry to eliminate the entrapment of air. The hydrostatic head must be maintained at all times so that a continuous grout front is achieved. Maintain a constant hydrostatic head, preferably of at least 15 cm.
  • Allow the grout to set prior to removal of the framework (normally after 6 hours)

Subsequent Applications:

Prior to the application of any membrane to the pile top, the applied AnchorPro EP PC should be lightly sanded to remove all traces of the formwork release agent and provide an adhesion key. Membranes should be subjected to an adhesion trial to ensure complete compatibility.

Finishing

Leveling and initial finishing should be carried out using a wooden or plastic float. Final finishing should be carried out using a steel float.

Curing

The cure time of the grout will depend upon the temperature of the base and foundation rather than the ambient air temperature. Unless the ambient air temperature has been constant for several days the base/foundation temperature will generally be lower than the air temperature

Others
  • Try to avoid application during the hottest times of the day, and in direct sunlight.
